Ⅳ. Physical properties:

White or yellowish flocculent fiber powder or white powder, nontoxic, odorless; easily soluble in cold or hot water to form into colloid, the solution is neutral or weak alkaline; insoluble in organic solvent such as ethanol, ether, isopropyl alcohol and acetone; soluble in ethanol or acetone solution with 60% of water; with hygroscopicity, light stability, heat stability; the viscosity will become lower if the temperature rises. If PH value is 2～10, the solution is stable; if the PH value is below 2, there will be solids separating out; if the PH value is over 10, the viscosity will become lower. Color changing temperature is 227℃, carbonization temperature is 252℃, and surface tension of 2% aqueous solution is 71mn/n.

Ⅴ. Use:
CMC is widely used in food, pharmaceutical, daily chemical, petroleum, paper making, textiles and building, etc.

⑴ It can be used in the projects of petroleum or natural gas extraction and drilling, etc.

⑵ It can be used as sizing agent in textile, printing and dyeing industries.

⑶ It can be used as paper smoothing agent and glue blending agent in paper making industry.

⑷ It can be used as scale adsorbent with synthetic detergent; in daily chemical industry such as toothpaste industry, its glyceric aqueous solution can be used as colloid base of toothpaste; in pharmaceutical industry, it can be used as thickener and emulsifier; etc.

⑸ In ceramic industry, it can be used as adhesive, plasticizer, suspending agent, and coloring stabilizer, etc.

⑹ It can be used in buildings to improve water preserving capability and intensity.

⑺ In food industry, it can be used as thickener, adhesive, etc when processing jam, sugar juice, fruit syrup, ice cream, beverage, etc.

Ⅵ. Storage & transportation:
Prevent from moisture, fire and high temperature during storage. Place in dry and ventilated places.
Keep away from rain during transportation. Don't use crampons during loading and unloading. For long storage and the piling, when you unpack it you may find agglomeration, which may cause inconvenient use, but will not change the quality.
Keep away from water during storage, or it may become colloid or partly solved.
Pack in 20kg or 25kg plastic bag lined with plastic film bag (or in accord with client's requirements).
